Booking ConditionsDescriptionsAll descriptions and information about hotels, guest houses and self-catering units on this site are supplied by the individual establishments and have not been verified by Portsmouth City Council as publishers. The Council cannot accept any liability for inaccuracies or omissions or for any loss or damage in any way connected with or arising from the making of any bookings.
Choosing your accommodationAll advertising entries have stated their English Tourism Council (ETC), Automobile Association (AA), or Royal Automobile Club (RAC) classification.

BookingComplete the on-line booking form and e-mail it direct to our staff who will make a reservation and come back to you.
To confirm your reservation a non refundable payment of 10% of the first night plus a £2 booking fee must be paid to the VIC. The remaining 90% is payable by yourselves to the accommodation provider.(The £2 booking fee is payable in all cases, even if we are unable to match your accommodation requirements or you subsequently choose not to complete the booking.) Payments must be made by Visa, Mastercard or any debit card. Card details will be passed on to the accommodation provider to secure the booking. Once payment has been made the VIC will fax or send you a booking form and map. Please note, the contract is between yourself and the accommodation provider who has the right to a proportion of the accommodation cost in case of cancellation.
PricesAll prices for hotels and guest houses are quoted as per person, based on 2 people sharing, and include VAT (17.5%) if required. All prices for self-catering units are quoted as per the unit per week and include VAT (17.5%) if required.
Proprietors reserve the right to amend prices from those quoted. Please confirm with the proprietor the actual prices for booking.

Holiday ExtrasAny extras such as drinks, extra meals etc and the cost of any extension of stay must be paid in full direct to the hotel/guest house before departure. Variation Of ConditionsPlease note that individual proprietors have the right to vary the above conditions and/or impose additional conditions, provided they inform you of such
conditions before they accept your booking. Holiday InsuranceEven if you are only travelling within the UK holiday insurance can offer very considerable protection against cancellation and losses. It costs very little and could save you a great deal.
Are we getting it right?The Portsmouth Visitor Information Service (VIS) is committed to getting it right; providing you with the best possible service at all times. In addition to your rights as a customer, the VIS operates a complaints procedure for establishments featured on this site.
If you have a problem, you should always raise the matter with the accommodation provider direct, preferably at the time of the alleged complaint/problem.
Our complaints procedureIf you are dissatisfied with the response you receive from the accommodation provider we invite you to submit your complaint, in writing, to the Customer Services Officer, Department for Economic Development and Tourism, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth PO1 2BG. Please help us to help you by providing us with as much information as possible and outline your consent that when dealing with the complaint we can, if necessary, disclose your details.
Unless you state to the contrary, we will refer your complaint to the accommodation provider for comment.
If necessary we will involve other appropriate organisations in the investigation of your complaint e.g. Regional Tourist Board, Environmental Health etc.
Where a complaint is substantiated, we will seek an explanation and apology from the establishment, and an undertaking that the failing will be corrected
If 3 substantiated complaints are received by Portsmouth City Council within twelve months about any of the establishments featured on this site, the City Council may remove the establishment from this site and from any other City Council marketing activities.
